nice to see some honest comments, i think as ever depends on what your racing in be it club or lgm/super 1. As it stands the Rotax engines with the Evo kit (which is cheaper than one of the many x30 engine rebuilds) is a level playing field power wise, so down to the driver at super 1 with all tyres parc ferme, so what racing should be about the driver. Pfi at the weekend saw some of the mini x30 drivers riding some rockets and some poor dads who had been sold the level playing field line by Mills and engine builders struggling big time. Although i am sure someone will say i bought my engine off the shelf and it was as fast, load of rubbish. One of the kids at the front paid 2ok for his rockets and struggles to put a lap together but was still fast. You can buy a cheap rotax engine and be competitive at super 1 and not have to rebuild it twice in a year. I guess now one of the big cadet teams has locked out imae cadets now mini x30 and junior x30, that is of course because they have the best drivers, or is it that they have the biggest wallets to buy the waft, you make your own mind up ! Didnt do too well last year when the big engines couldnt be bought or made to order, now they can, they seem tobe doing a whole lot better.
