Dogman you don't have a clue and i can only speak from experience and about Iame cadet. 3 out of the current top 5 are in fusion and a year in there is 26k +vat, all three of those have mechanics prepping there kit and one of those is paid in the region of 30k plus a car, by the time you put on kart prep, dyno, spares etc your bill is around 5k/month including VAT. They are out every weekend for 2 days, 3 at super 1 minimum, they hire tracks etc so a reasonable year without spending silly money on big motors is somewhere around 70k. The strawberry driver in the top 5 was doing that kind of money when he was in fusion but might be getting a deal to help get strawberry on the Iame cadet map and the 5th place driver is running with a team and his own mechanic and is out every weekend, so he will be doing around 30 to 40K. Your kid can be as talented as hamilton or russell but without a 30 to 40k budget you wont see the top 5 and thats a fact at super 1 level like it or not. Pretty soon you will need the same budget for mini x30 and junior now the big teams are taking control of these classes as shown by 3 GP wins by fusion in cadet, mini x, and junior. Save your money until senior x30 when the dads are either skint like me from chasing the dream or spending there large budgets in cars. I have been in there at Super 1 and LGM and see whats going on...oh and also 4 out of the top 5 are being managed by a company like APSM which is 10k/year plus VAT, all three of the GP plate winners are managed by APSM as well, so your 70k is touching 100. Might not have to be a millionaire to feed that kind of budget but it does help or you have to work hard. LOL
