If I was still racing TKM and given the option of the 2, assuming that the TAG motor is the same speed as the DD, I would still choose the DD over the TAG purely because of the extra risk of starter failure.

In Formula Blue, starter motor failures are a common failure and most people expect at least 1 per year if they do 10 or more races. We've had 2 during the year (one was on a practice day fortunatly).

But at least in Blue, you've got to run the TAG so it's the same for everyone. In TKM you've got the choice so to me, I don't see a reason why to run the TAG unless you find it too difficult (but even then, I would rather race a class were everyone is on TAG for the failure reason given above).

Really what they should've done was made the TAG 5 years ago and make it a must run item but they haven't so we're faced with the situation we have today.
