broke... totally agree with your point. I never used to grease the cage, just a squirt of WD40 when I fitted it and away I went. Yet still whenever I took it apart I found I had to clean tons of stuff I could only think got in through the big holes in the drum. After all the cage only spins when idling and how much idling do we allow it to do? 30secs?
I reckon Rotax/MSA should ban the grease altogether. However, given the contents of my first phrase above...
My conclusion: Just let it be, grase or not, the skill in racing is a for the mechanic/driver team to find the maximum performance without modification/alteration to the equipment where not allowed. Greasing isn't a modification per-se so just let it "slip" if you excuse my pun!
