I agree with all these recent points. The way I see it being in a works team is a big advantage regarding setup before you even talk about engines. That's why so many people are prepared to pay a lot of money to be run. It's also to do with the fact that the whole sport is so much more professional and a lot of people doing it on their own will be spent out before they have learned what they need to do to be competitive.
So there are a lot of teams that have very profitable businesses from the current "karting model" but without the non-team runners and new starters where would they be?
So why not make large/works teams have to pay their own entry fee to be at a race which could be used to subsidise the driver entry fees which are now one of the biggest costs.
I am not against people making money out of karting but some of the profit that teams make should be going into funding track improvements and facilities instead of it just falling on individuals, 99.9% of whom will never make a penny out of karting.
