The brake disk vents are designed to "throw" the hot vapour and dust out of the disk. When you are at the rear of the kart and looking at the disk, you should be looking INTO the vents at the top of the disk. A Tony kart disk and some others are biased on the construction of the carrier so that the parts that clamp the disk, also face baqckwards at the top of the carrier, thus giving a clue to the rotation. This construction also influences the strain that is carried by those lugs from the forces induced when the disk is gripped by the pads. put it round the wrong way and the forces are put on the acute angle instead of the obtuse and could cause them to crack. I do not know why they still cross drill discs as it is a leftover from asbestos pads. Slots are fine but cross drilling leads to uneven wear across the discs. Cross drilling looks nice but that is as far as it goes on a kart. With a slotted disc, the curved slot should contact the pad at the outer edge first.
