Everyone on this forum seems to just want to spark up an argument!! I was just trying to put my point of viea across.
I was racing every 2-3 weekends, never had any accidents on any of them, they were just very poorly fabricated. The welds look awful compared to JKH / Tonykart. My opinion after buying around 6-7 frames all of which snapped within 2 meetings (some outer seat stays and some engine side)On that basis I would never recommend one to anyone, and pretty much everyone in the S1 paddock that year was having the same problem (these were the later versions of the kart). I dont think the juniors were seeing the same thing but certainly in Senior with higher weights it ws a bug problem...
In actual fact, they were so bad, I picked a new frame up from PCR one weekend that was so badly put together you could see by eye that the 2 tube that the engine mount to were not running parrallel at the back of the kart (around the axle). When I commented on it to Paul Carr he just said 'yeh, some of them come out like that, theres nothing I can do'
Anyway, the guys who are saying they have been fine, must have got lucky, and there seem to be a few still running at club meetings with no problems... but I think the majority verdict when everyone was using them, was that they were very poorly built.
