I agree with Adrian about the power valve opening at 7500rpm. Turning the red nob clock wise will make it open higher in the rev range. Turn anti-clockwise to make it open earlier. As a rule of thumb three clicks from fully in is where i run it.
The other thing is to clean the power valve itself, you need to do this to make sure it always opens a the same RPM and doesn't stick. Your not allowed to take any material of the valve itself but you can clean off the carbon. Use a brillo pad, this won't take any material off the valve.
When it stops on idle does the plug look oily? if not its running lean on idle rather than rich.
If it won't idle then could be a lot of things. But first to check is the plastic fuel pipe. If theres an air bubble as it goes into the cab then change it.
