Alan, you don't have to tell me about the thought and planning that goes into what your doing, I know it's all hard work and lot's of planning to pull something like this off.
Just incase there is a bit of misunderstanding here I am not suggesting the use of live camera's as a replacement for the televised program I am suggesting them to try and help compliment the series and make it the best in the world.
I think if it's cleverly done then the picture quality would be acceptable as don't forget that this would be aimed at die hard racers who know what the crack is and are just interested in tuning in to see how it's panning out. As bandwidth increases in the future then it will make it a much more viable option to increase the quality but to begin with just a reasonably good picture would be good enough with all the timetable and laptimes, positions and live commentry.
Think of football on the radio, loads of die hard fans tune in to hear what is going on but they can't see anything. Well with this idea you would hear what is going on and you would be able to see a reasonable quality picture which should be enough to please the die hard racers.
Just a suggestion that might bring in more revenue.
Chris.
