in your kart and drive it! (Preferably on a dry and sunny day.) Karting is about having fun, not doing your brain in trying to second guess everyone and everything. Anything 'tested' on a track at minus degress C and ice will be irrelivant come April/May as front end grip will mysteriously re-appear.
I cannot see anyone with the latest Tony EVxxxxxxxx welding in or not the front bar let alone having 2 such chassis. If there are they would be mid field runners at best.
It is far more of an issue with my 2005 Birel MX which always had too much rear grip. Welding in the front bar would probably be a must.
In the ICA days it was not the front bar that made the difference, it was nearly always the rear one. The new tyres are not dis-simmilar to the Bridgestone YGB.
