Hi All, many thanks for the posts; I am looking to try a 125 gearbox (actually, my son is), he's had a few 100cc both air and watercooled, a senior max and currently races Formula Blue but he wants to try a gearbox kart on a larger circuit. He doesn't drive yet so is not used to a clutch however he is aware of the concept and how they work and I am positive he will get used to it very quickly but, like anything new, he needs to get out there and try it.
I had a go in a Zip 125 6-speed many years ago (more than I care to remember) when I was racing motorbikes and I thought it was scary fast - even though the clutch was slipping!
The move to a gearbox just seems to be the next logical step up but I want him to try before we buy...
