Hi Guys, right I have just finished stripping and rebuilding barrel/head and piston etc... on inspection of the piston I found that the piston ring was stuck in the grove and the top of the piston was covered in carbon/black. I removed the piston and cleaned it off very carefuly along with freeing the piston ring, what would have caused this to happen - incorrect mixture? everything else is ok barrel clean and unscoured, other than the piston being black it is not scoured and well within the limits, the bore size is 54.45. I have now put it all back together but on doing so I noticed there was no gasket between the barrel and head, is this right? The worse thing in all this was those 25 pins....lol. Any advise muchly appreciated.
