Well regarding the engines, Senior 100 is dominated by TKM engines and none of the regulars bother putting an older faster engine on because they know that it's going too far so everyone sticks with the TKM's as they're cheap and in good supply.
The weight limit has been a problem this year but not as much as you would expect, generally the good drivers will beat your Ronnie Corbets even if they are at a disadvantage. Even so it has been a disadvantage for some drivers (not all) so next year they are introducing a minimum weight limit.
With the tyres there are lot's of different ones available and most of the drivers use whatever they can get their hands on. I personally would like to see the tyres used being limited to certain ones but that's just my opinion I'm not sure what the rest of the grid thinks.
I think the thing to remember here though is that this racing is for fun and is open for everyone. No matter what your ability or race package you are pretty much guaranteed a good race with somebody due to how the racing format is (quickest at the front, slowest at the back).
If you want controlled racing then MSA is the way to go but if you look at the grid numbers you can see that people just can't afford to be chucking money at the sport anymore. The IndiKart series is a hell of a lot cheaper and offers the close clean racing that most drivers want. The atmosphere is super friendly aswell so for somebody just wanting a good day out with some good clean racing you really can't beat it.
