As 'Junior father' says he has gone to considerable time, effort and expense to get motors that he feels are suitable. Now Rotax PE comes along. If you just do 6 S1 race meetings a year at a suggested cost of �300 a round for engine hire that's great. However if you still want to do some club racing and 'special' events you are still going to need something to race with during the rest of the year!!!!!!!!!!!
This will be true with any 'shared' engine scheme.
Competitors will always be looking for an advantage, it's the nature of racing. Some look harder than others. I note in this months karting magazine 10, 20, 30 etc years ago section mentions of a certain driver who won both the Mini and Junior Rotax O plate one year.
