John, it is well known that Rotax barrels vary enormously in performance, this is not the case in KGP, or cadet Iame. If you go into you local kart shop, and buy a Rotax motor, or barrel, off the shelf , its pot luck if you have a good. That's not the case with KGP or Iame.
It is not just a case of sending off a Rotax motor to an engine builder and it comes back fast, if its a slow barrel...it's a slow barrel, give it to anyone, and it will still be slow.
In my opinion KGP will become a big class in the UK. The access to good equipment, in KGP, is it's main plus point to me. Anyone can get a good motor in KGP, there are no special motors. I am not saying they are all the same, that is impossible....but the KGP motor is far , far, far more equal than Rotax motors. You will never see a pooled engine class in KGP, like they are doing in Rotax, as the KGP motors are very evenly matched.
