Why does every post on this forum requesting info on Rotax engine, end up in a Rotax bashing.
The majority of people drive/run Rotax because the motor is reliable, performance is decent, it starts off the button, a Pearson with limited mechanical knowledge can get it to run half decent, it has been around for quite a while so parts are plentiful and relatively cheap in motorsport terms.
The vast majority of people in karting are looking for a bit of fun/excitement at the weekend, without having to be in the garage after every outing.
No the wonder kart numbers are going down we should as karter's, encourage new people into the sport by presenting a positive and helpful attitude, not taking every opportunity to bash the sport.....
