Posting this in the two stroke forum as there quite a few more Zips here than in Honda where we run.
I've just had to transfer everything from one chassis to another and have got a bit stuck on the rear bumper so was hoping if those who do know the right order can enlighten me.
I'm not sure it was ever assembled "properly" and the the rubber grommets in the bumper holes for the bolts that come out of the chassis didn't quite make the transition, though I do have the aluminum type grommets.
(This is where this post gets a bit long (!) so thanks in advance for reading and for any advice)
My questions are how do you do yours? As I see it there are four different ways of doing this as below.
The way I had it was: Bumper bolt with rubber thing on it inside the chassis tube. Then the bumper with the rubber grommets either side Then a single locking 17mm nut Then about a hundred cable ties give or take holding the bumper on.
Was this correct or does "correct" look like any of these options: Option #1 Bumper bolts with the rubber that slides into the chassis. 17mm nut to tighten them Tap them slightly further in so the nut goes in Then bumper with rubber grommets either end And then a 17mm locking nut to keep it on
Or #2: The same as above but with the aluminium grommets instead of the rubber ones
Or #3: As #1 but without the first 17mm crimping the rubber inside the chassis tube
Or #4: As #2 without the first 17mm crimping the rubber inside the chassis tube
