Hi Penniless
Good to hear we're not the only ones with a hoover motor...
When we were last out, we'd been going richer on the High jet mainly cause a lot of people were commenting on how flat the kart sounded at the end of the straights...almost as if too lean.
I'm not sure changing the jetting actually made a lot of difference to the sound, or lap times as my driver was still getting used to the track and we were playing with gearing as he found his lines.
Towards the end of the Sunday when the air temp was close to 20deg, we were getting towards 128deg CHT so had gone richer on the Low jet on advice from my engine builder, although in hindsight I'm also wondering if that was more due to the kart gripping up rather than the jetting. What sort of temperatures are you seeing as "normal"?
My suspicion is that we ended up a long way from where we should have been - at various points we'd gone around +6mins on H and/or L jets...my gut feeling is that these sort of changes are much bigger than we should be using, so will be back on base settings for next time.
Will check some of the items suggested in earlier posts but the hoover sound is still bugging me...
Good luck with getting yours fixed - sounds a bit more serious than my problems - but guess that means it might be easier to solve
Chris
