Yes, the 4 clutch drums & 1 clutch were done in last four/five outings" have been caused from doing standing starts at S1 & club meetings. In order to get the kart away quickly of the grid from a standing start is for the driver to rev the engine whilst holding it on the brake to generate heat into the clutch just prior to switching your engine-off whilst parked on the starting grid. If you don't do this procedure you are basically screwed when the race starts!!!! as you won't get off the line quickly. As Alanr say's Standing Starts are for Tarts, we need to put things back on 'track' and stop this nonscence of having Standing Starts. We need to get back to Rolling Starts before engine rebuilds & repair costs get out of hand and people start walking away from Karting.
If there's issues with first corner incidents at some circuits then perhaps faster starts should be encouraged which allow the field to spread out thereby allowing openings to occur for karts to flow into thus making things easier and racing incidents then kept to a minimum.
