Does the issue with allowing tuning in karting not drive more newbie's away? You can go buy a Max or what ever (currently) turn up to the track race and with in reason being on the pace? Surely allowing engine tuning open's up the way for more "cheque book racer's"?
Would it not be possible to have a open class adjust weights accordingly and or adjust tyres? Maybe like Aus do with the video that was floating around a few years ago having 250cc max and any engine permitted pretty much. On the video I saw there was a twin engine direct drive 100cc screamer, twin kz 125 and a 250 national all running together. Biggest issue facing karting is cost make it cheaper to race and people will come.
Just an idea don't shoot me for it.
