Some of you will have read of our exploits in France. Things just got a whole lot worse.
Anyone running Honda GX160's in the UK will know that there is quite a difference between a good and a bad engine. However you have nothing on the GX120's we run, these engines have much smaller cast ports than the GX160 and as the most restrictive point in the engine determines the power output. Bigger ports = more power. Smaller ports = less power. Simple as and with massive differences in production this means up to 1hp difference between engines, even with consecutive numbers.
So what do Honda France and the FFSA decide to do next year? SEALED ENGINES......ahhhhhhhh This will include, apparently oil as well as rocker box!!!!!!!
Talk about clueless and self-destructive. Everyone will be forced to buy new engines rumoured to be about 900 (800) each and then send them back to Sodi just for oil changes.
So, were putting together a dossier to try and change minds and I was hoping I might get some info on why the GX160 were originally sealed and why it didn't work, even with engines that are almost identical, relatively speaking.
