The Mk1 7Kart, was a development of the Stratos Storm, and was launched in 2002 after Stratos had closed down. The easiest way to identify an Mk1 from an Mk2 is the lack of sleeve on the rear chassis rail (by the rear bumper, but some have been converted). The Mk2 with the rear sleeve and some other small changes replaced the Mk1 and stayed pretty much unchanged in design until 2009 when the 4 bearing Mk3 was launch along side it (the Mk2 was updated and is now know as the 7Kart Classic). In the right hands any well looked after 7kart is able to run at the front, and win. All 7Karts have a serial number stamped on the small metal plate next to the brake master cylinder, the 1st two digits identify the year of manufacture. If you need any more help or advice them give me a call.
