So claiming the camber kit gave you that time is complete rubbish! Myself, Peter Stott and Andy Smith all went sub 55 on the practice day before the HC round in 2001 on Stratos Storm 2's.
Andy actually did a 55 flat on Bridgestones weighing in at 172 kg (ish) in 2004 on a 7 Kart. That's the same weight as Stuart would have been in 1999 at the internations on a tyre that is around 0.5 of a second a lap quicker.
I would say that the camber adjustment on the 7 has the potential for giving you a more comfortable kart to drive and that's about it... The fact it's not true camber adjustment (like everyone else's) and that the king pin angle is effected means it's always a compromise as you can't limit the geometry change to just one thing.
