6 karts took part in the tyre test at Whilton today. It was also attended by the team manager from Baron Racing & Martin Dellow from BIZ. Running the test was Kelvin Nicholls & Howard Lucas, Howard set the bench mark of the test by driving on slightly worn bridgestones to get the feel of the circuit, then commenced the test with new tyres from Duro, & Kartline. Initially, in the damp cold conditions the Duros even at 15 PSI were the quickest giving excellent grip in trying conditions, as the track dryed more favourable reports were for Kartlines with concerns that the Duros would provide too much grip. We will therefore be discussing over the next few days and announcements on tyres for EPEC season 2010 will be announced at Kartmania show. Just a couple of facts that might interest you, the profile of the tyres are very similar with the Kartline measuring the same as the Bridgestones give or take a mil or two, the Kartline are a much smaller tyre (rear) fronts very similar. The sure rating "Hot" Duro 60 to 64. The Kartline slightly harder more details to come. Any questions welcome.
