Just to practise you will need an over suit (not racing suit), helmet and gloves. It will be pretty lonely there as it is a corporate track. You would be better coming to Barton Stacey (www.fekc.co.uk) and practising there. I am there some weekends with my prokart and there are sometimes a few more.
For racing see www.ekcendurance.co.uk. With an older chassis you won't be near the front but it will be fine to learn the tracks with for a year. We did a season on a VERY old Stratos Clubman before buying a Wright.
Not sure what your chassis is but as long as it is straight then if will be fine to start on. As said earlier the brake you have is worth half of what you paid for the whole lot (almost).
For further advise drop me a line, Im only in Romsey.
