So... why couldn't you' get the same pleasure of 'working' on a 2 stroke? You'd get the same 'engineer's pleasure' but you'd also get the SENSATION of the improved power!
Don't get me wrong, I really DO like ProKart racing (I have two in my barns!). However, they are fun because, when you race it, it's against IDENTICALLY limited engines and so it becomes a way of actually seeing the difference between DRIVERS.....: if you CAN drive, you'll know.... if you CAN'T drive.... you'll LEARN .... or remain slow....
BUT..... if you 'tune' your Honda and race it against UN-TUNED Hondas.... then all you are showing is......... I'll stop there.....!
My point is: if you DON'T want to race to a set of rules... why limit yourself to an engine which really DOESN'T give the power and the EXTREME fun that can be had from SHEER POWER. Secondly, why spend time (and MONEY!!) tuning an engine to deliver LESS power than you could get MORE CHEAPLY?????
Finally, the Honda is built FOR CHEAPNESS! It's parts are wobbly, flimsy and crudely-cast except where they NEED to be well-cast. They are BRILLIANT but have not the SLIGHTEST amount of 'artistry' in their construction.... they are a TOOL and the don't pretend to be anything else. Whereas.... a FULL 100cc 2 stroke is closer to the beauty of SCULPTURE! Every SINGLE component is made with PRECISION and feels like ART in your hands! Just HOLD the cylider head of a Parilla TT22 and LOOK at that CASTING (radially-cast fins)! Absolutely bl**dy BRILLIANT! Damn it, I have bought one JUST to put in a presentation case as MOTORING ART!
Those who are NOT mechanics have NO IDEA why a set of Snap-On Tools is NICER to hold than 'Draper's best'. Those of you who DO understand can't fail to FEEL why the 100cc engine is of the same NATURE! Put simply:-
The Honda GX160 is a BRILLIANT DONKEY..... the 100cc 2 stroke is a THOUROUGHBRED ARABIAN STEED!
..... and you guys are choosing to ride a DONKEY .... on a beach at Scarborough....... while wearing a kiss-me-kwik hat..... with rolled-up-trousers..... and braces.......
