RoadRat.....As I suspected.... like the rest of the French.... you have NO SOUL! No wonder you are so happy there!
Look.... it's simple.... you do NOT need to fiddle with the 2 stroke AT ALL if all you want is HALF its power..... however, Half the popwer of a moderate 2 stroke is DOUBLE or T*R*E*BL*E the power of a Honda!!!!!!!!!
Simply fit a driven sprocket that's FAR TOO SMALL.... let's guess.... TEN TEETH TOO SMALL..... the engine will then run 5,000 rpm off it's peak and you'll STILL be able to EAT 6 stone weaklings on prokarts if you are 14 stone!
Under THAT settings.... then the motor wil give you HUNDREDS of hours without a rebuild! And they are CHEAPER to buy than a NEW GX160......
Damn it... at the price you can buy them for, you'd be BONKERS to rebuild one.... when it wears out, throw it away and fit ANOTHER!!!!! They are DIRT CHEAP!!!!!!
*********
I am still stunned at the concept that 4 Stroke motors running Cool Power smell BETTER than a 2 stroke on Castrol R.... You simply must LIKE the smell of Sulphur.....
As I said, you don't have a SOUL if you truly BELIEVE that!
The 'Green' argument is amusing too..... Most people use more fuel GETTING to the track with a 2 Stroke kart than they use ON the track....... The 'green issue' is hardly relevant!
*****
And once AGAIN I have to stress..... it's NOT going to be easy to find a set of race rules that ALLOW him to run WITHOUT the fan..... so this is NOT a questiuon about Prokarts being 'friendlier' to RACE!
If HE wants to tinker with water-pump motors when there are JEWELS to race thatis UP TO HIM ....
BUT.......... don't get a job in F1... get a job on a building site..... there's plenty of Hondas there! That would be MUCH more fun than playing with a FIAt or McLaren F1 engine.....
