mini60matt: So was the streamy eyes syndrome down to fuel additive? I remember reading some posts about that before but didn't take it in at the time. If so, maybe it is more acceptable to have the odd kart running illegal additive than the whole grid chucking it out. Fair and justified point if there are health risks, I agree.
If ACCEPTABLE additives were used then I don't think this would necessarily mean huge amounts of extra testing since typical baseline figures would soon be established, in the way they we have a starting point for such parameters as tyre pressures, jet sizes, gearing, etc.
As an aside, there are many posts concerning the variation in performance of a particular make of tyre right now. If it could be proven that the use of tyre additive could narrow this variation then would it be such a bad thing?
