Hi Wurble - Great name by the way...
Been plodding round and round 3S for a while now and I would agree that Gregor's set-up advice is as pretty much accurate today as when the last time he drove it. So go with it.
You'll also need to shim the front stub axles out to about 20-25mm each side for WET weather to give the kart more castor and "Bite" in the wet corners.
Don't know what size stubs you have but I'm presuming that they are likely to be 17mm. Just make sure you have some extra 10 & 5mm shims with you on the day.
Also 3S now run Bridgestone's these days. They provide much more grip in the wet than the Chen Ching's ever did, so try to get some Bridgestones if you haven't already. If they are brand new you WILL need to scrub them in properly before venturing out. At least 30 mins or so should do the trick. If they are worn - but not worn out, they will do fine for the wet.
If it's your first time out in the dark - and possibly wet, they will help keep you out of trouble. Don't wish to patronise you as you say that you have done an endurance event there before, but we came to 3S in exactly the same way (Dark & wet) and for us it was a proper Baptism of fire.
Just remember to learn to love it and welcome to the Wigan Prokarting scene. It's unique.....
