Good to know our tax payers money is going to a worthy cause! ;-)
The three main players in the UK Prokart market are MS Kart, 7Kart and Wright karts (which you may know as the SWRD, Simon Wright Racing Developments).
All three chassis have a good following, good support from the sellers and good representation.
MS Lucas of course with their 2009/2010 MS Pro Kart chassis, Team Alpha use Wright Chassis, and a large amount of sprinters (and endurance alike) use 7Karts to great success all over the country.
We've ran a 2006 MS Chassis which was superb and pretty competative. At the Teesside 24hr in August this year we drove with a fellow team on a 2009/2010 MS Chassis which was incredible. Plenty of grip through the corners, amzing under breaking and plenty of bite out of the corners - so naturally I would vouch for the latest MS chassis... but that would largely be unfair as I have not driven a Wright or a 7Kart - so I will allow users of those karts to elaborate!
At the end of the day though, you need to try them all to see which you prefer, and in any case, a well set up example of each kart, with the same driver, wouldn't see much differnce - its more down to preference on driving style.
Hope that helps, Rhauri
