well you need decent equiptment for starters...it gives you a good basis, but the kart isnt everything, you can hae the best kit in the world but if your a rubbish driver your not going to get anywhere
the thing that strikes me more than anything about prokarting when compared to 2/ is that experience rules all!...in 2/ i think that decent equiptment can hide your shortfalls, from what ive seen prokarts are far more competative and the experience of the drivers really shows through...ive seen a lot of very good teams/drivers in a relatively short time in prokarts. in terms of whether i race to win or for fun?....well i want to do as well as i can naturally, but the fun aspect is a big thing for me, theres no point in doing it if it isnt fun.
if it came between winning a race and being a miserable git, or finishing last and having a ball doing it, id finish last every time!
