Simply do the maths.
1) count the number of new adverts in the market place in a 2 week period. 2) estimate the average number of replies that each would get and the number of responses that it would elicit from each 'seller', etc., becasue all of these would also appear in the forums 3) Multiply those together. 4) compare that to the number of 'non-advert' postings in the forums with which that MASS of adverts would contain.
Would such an advert-infested forum make it MORE likely that you'd visit..... or LESS so.....?
Try it another way:
Did you PREFER the coverage of F1 when it was interrupted by adverts? Do you think that the adverts in the middle of the 'entertainment' IMPROVED the coverage? Would/did it IBCREASE you wish to WATCH the GPs...?
How would that differ from these forums being SWAMPED by adverts....?
Honestly, 10 seconds thought about this subject shows WHY Dick and Martin ban adverts! It's not exactly rocket science, is it!
