Hi all,
Wondering if anyone can help. Previously I posted on the forum with a clutch issue, which was resolved and massive thanks for that. However, after testing and racing this weekend I am having other issues.
Basically, my kart is an '07 MS chassis and has seen better days but it is still a decent bit of kit. At the start of races it feels like an absolute rocket ship. At starts I tend to overtake several rows by the Senna S of the Warden Law circuit. However, after a couple of laps, the kart seems to feel less responsive and particularly out of slow corners it feels like it is bogging down. I then start to lose the guys in front of me and others overtake. I very much doubt it is me getting tired after just two laps as I'm not a noob to racing, just mechanicing. I don't think it is a gearing issue as it is fine for the first few laps and I am already geared quite conservative with that (20:71).
Is it possible that something is not quite right when everything heats up. Either tyres heating up and somehow causing bogging down or perhaps clutch overheating (the recent change was to allow a smoother feed-in so maybe I have lost performance from that). My immediate thought was "are my brakes binding on" .. but they tend to have a distinctive smell and they aren't ceased on when I finish.
If anyone has any advice on why I may be losing pulling power out of slow corners after a couple of laps I would be extremely grateful. Also, perhaps advice on exactly which clutch setting to use at Warden, if anyone is willing to divulge such information.
Thanks,
Adam
