Thanks guys - i can hardly believe the times we achieved on sunday!!! Annoying that they couldnt verify the times due to the system screwing up but they were definately genuine 57's. I say this because on sat both me and Scott Abercrombie done 58.2's in practise with minimal rotax rubber on the circuit.
Sun morning qualy i had a perfect lap and on my timer was a 57.7 and stuck me on pole (57.94 official timing) equaled by Scott.
First race after an incident on first lap had to come back from 16th and with the red mist in my visor was driving like a mad man and every lap was getting faster and faster, posted various 57.5s on my timer and was gob smacked!! my timer picks up at the hairpin not the start line hence difference in times due to slip stream on straight etc. Also Scott who won the race by a reasonable margin was doing 57.6's clear air!!
As the day went on and with more and more MOJO rubber going down, the track became grippier and slower, i felt like i was on a scalextric track - the kart was glued and on rails. Still posted a 57.8 in the final as i was getting harrased by kewy and scott in close company.
I think the old lap record by Chris MIller at 58.26 will be beaten again but unfortunately for me i dont think i will ever get as fast a lap again - the 57.07 was a FREAK lap. :( lol
Had a great days racing tho and thanks to everyone for making it that way, come on June race day - hurry up.......
