Has anyone worked out the implications of the NEW Honda GX160 due to be phased in from the end of the year? http://honda-engines-eu.com/en/newsevents/press_releases/midGX.jsp
If it's like the larger engines, there will be virtually no parts overlap and with varible ignition timing the mid range at least should be much stronger than the UT1, making it difficult to run them together. Only the G4 variant will be suitable for karting, as it's the only one without a 4k rev limiter in the CDI.
Perhaps the powers that be, should consider the Chinese Honda GX160, they bought all the tooling for the old type engines and are essentially identical to the existing engine (and much cheaper), although Honda don't want anyone to know that.
