We have been talking about a similar problem in our club albeit that the discussion centres around the new UT 1 vs the older Tspec motors. The problem is that there are a vast number of Tspec motors around that can't really compete with fresh UT1s whether "standard" or SP. The same will happen with the new motors vs the UT1. One suggestion is to split the class into "modern" and "classic" with the cut off being drawn at a particular engine number/type. This will enable those who can't or don't want to afford new kit to have a competitive race against similar machinery leaving the others to (possibly) drive off into the distance. The alternative is to race knowing you can't win - not much fun! Maybe the same might work with the next generation, otherwise there are going to be a lot of people with uncompetitive kit giving up the sport.
