No suggestion of Bridgestone at WL for 2012 - it will stay on Dunlops but need to keep an eye on what happens with the Honda Challenge as it grows. It makes sense for the class to run on a single tyre and whether that be Dunlop or Bridgestone it doesn't matter. In fact to reduce costs for next year it is proposed that we stick to Dunlop only for both slick and wet tyres.
If Teesside was to adopt the Dunlop they would attract more karts. The Kartlines, while cheaper and offer slightly more grip, are significantly heavier and are of poor quality by comparison (some are not even round!)
The no wets rule has been in use for some time at 3 Sisters, Epec and Teesside to good effect and I personally think it is awesome.
The scales have been an issue for a number of years now and while it would be good if they could be calibrated they are the scales of the day and it only disadvantages those at 175kg and above I suppose although the tyre will be a large part of this I would have thought.
Someone else has already mentioned the S word.
