I like the buy back idea, I think its great. The flaw it has is that people may not actually buy other people engines. If they don't do it often, then it may be worth the risks of buying some sp engines and hoping no one buys them. Remember all the teams in this class will be teams on a smaller budget and have their engines sorted and may not have enough cash to buy another motor or 2.
Instead of success ballast what about success engines. The top 3 from the previous round get a pool engine. The eki did this a few years ago, I cant remember the outcome??!!?(The pool motors would have to be race prepped ready to go.)
In my opinion the tyres should stay as they are. Most series use Yds so that is a good thing. They are also a good tyre, last a long time and are consistent from batch to batch. You could go for a cheaper tyres, but its a lottery. You dont want to start a 6 hour races on tyres that second off.
The no wets rule works, works well. I dont like it, but thats my personal opinion and Im in the minority, so no wets its the right way to go.
I dont like the idea of lots of classes. If your going to do that, you may as well add 10 to everyone race entry and everyone gets a trophy. 2 classes are perfect pro and clubman.
Kelvin does a great job with scrutineering, so I dont think that needs to change.
