sorry Ross but the information provided in relation to number of heats is inaccurate. Per 2004/5 we used to race just 3 heats of 20 laps and a final of 25 laps. Around only 2004/5 it switched to 4 heats and a final but with a similar number (albeit reduced) of overall laps due, in the main, from a suggestion from our older drivers of the day that did not have the stamina for 25 laps.
As the years progressed the lap numbers reduced to 4 heats of 12 laps and a 15 lap final (weather dependant of course).
In my view the reduction in our grid has little to do with the loss of the race. 2011 already saw a drop off in numbers although it certainly didn't help. It has far more to do with the economic situation (perceived or otherwise), customer experience and natural grid transience/evolution. And the continued uncertainty of the tyre position has done little to mitigate any of this. In the abscence of adequate notice of any change I would have thought that stability of the regulations was what is required.
