I will try to clarify our position,we were not rail roaded into accepting extremes but realised after talking to people a compromise had to be made to ensure that EPEC continues with competitive grids in terms of performance & numbers. 1 The weight I appreciate that some people have to run a lot of lead but if you were to stand on the scales with me you would be surprised how many karts & drivers come in way over the current 180 kilo, the weight limit increase to 185 & possibly 187.5 is to allow the slightly older & slightly larger driver to compete rather than equalise the performance between the 160 & 200. We also have to remember one of the rules allows team managers to call for a vote (7 members) to vote on any issues, so things can be changed if drivers feel that strongly. 2 To give an example of how I feel the engine will develope an owner driver called me while at RPM realised the implication of the new extremes & instead of buying 2 sp's he bought 6 extremes. I will be exchanging engines the criteria still to be decided & I am assuring you all we will most certainly keep a level playing field & if people choose to race with us they will have to go along with our decisions, I have been assured by all major players they are happy to do what is required to make this championship work.
You can talk to me anytime you like that includes anyone involved in any championship. Finally, remember the championship belongs to the competitors so we ask ask you all to be positive.
Regards Bob Pope
