To be fair Poppa Al, who tells you that you need a rib protector ?
I bought a kart and started coming along, and then learning really quickly with everything you need to learn. I guess I learn't the hard way with this, which is why I posted how easy it was to get hurt.
Despite getting crashed into and at some pretty considerable force, I didn't spin off or stop, I managed to maintain my direction again highlighting how easy it is to get hurt, you don't need to be upside down in the grass.
Should I meet anyone in future starting out, I will most certainly be recommending rib protectors, I know some of the guys use them already but didn't really understand how important they were, I just figured my seat was really snug fit and so I wouldn't be rattling around enough to bruise my ribs, not thinking for a minute they would break.
Anyway, you live and learn and I just hope others may read this and take the advice to get some more body protection.
