you did well getting that kart, as said the 2011-2013 P1's are a great first kart and we still get beaten by them!......the T1 will be fine for testing with, the new exhaust is only required for MSA racing......if you want a bit more oompf on test day just remove the shim-steel restrictor from between the carb and head, also disconnecting the breather from the rocker cover adds a lot of performance......run him without 10Kg of lead and he should be able to keep up with others once on the T1 once he learns how to thrash it......as mentioned, you soon need to think about getting a Mychron4, I picked ours up second hand for only �120 and they provide a goldmine of information.....after that think about getting a GoPro......but most of all just enjoy the dad-n-lad experience and now having a good excuse to avoid shopping trips with your wife!
