Those extra holes on the project one are definitely alternative pedal locators. You may need longer bolts as they are slightly different length to the ones at the front. If that still doesn't work, you can get alto brackets. They mount on the floor tray but will give you another inch or two over the kart's alternative mounts.
If you're still having problems, there is a pedal platform that sits on top of the lower steering column bracket. The advantage with that is it raises the heals as well as bringing the pedals closer, otherwise there's a good chance the track rods will rub the back of the legs.
