Just use Joe Gibbs, although not cheap, it saves you a lot of money in the long run, whereby it prevents a lot of engine wear and you can go quite a long way without having to have your engine rebuilt too soon.
Dont get suckered into changing the oil every race weekend, you can do 5-6 hours on a single oil change no problem, which is 6 days of karting, or 3 race weekends.
If you have been running on Joe Gibbs, then if you change to another grade, you run the possible risk of glazing up the bore, then you will need a full rebuild after your engine loses over a second per lap.
For sure people use other oils with great success, but Joe Gibbs is not that expensive in the grand scheme of things.
top tip.....lock-wire the lower metal drain plug to the upper filler plug at both the front and rear of the engine, I have seen 3 engines spit out a drain plug, and after the oil is dumped all over the track, your pride and joy is utterly trashed......all for the cost of drilling 4 off 2mm holes and some lock wire
