If your racing club level then you should be able to podium on 6.7 or 7.1 just develop the driver. This is motor sport and there are big engines out there in any class, be they legal or not thats just motor sport at any level or class. If a dad at club level has loads of money they will be able to buy a super 1 engine, but you can still beat the kid by making your driver better and the fastest driver doesnt always win, nor does he have the best engine. Harry Thompson last year didnt have the best engines, they were good but in both Iame and Honda there were better engineson the grid than his, my son had better motors in Iame than him, but we couldn't beat him. Teach your son to race and he will enjoy his karting more and you will enjoy his racing, because chasing the waft will drive you mental.
