wrong or missing the point, the reasons for the buyback scheme seem to be to make it apear your can have cheap motorsport, because parents are put off from for example a 1000pound engine, but what they are not told you crash bend a chasis and do a crash helmet your in a 1000pound quite easily. its just seems this idea is to limit the sports progress as cadets is a training ground.
As for a slow engine is a slow engine i know that, i used schumacker as an example of talent, and how people dont like success.
But sitting here I have just come up with an idea. rather than a clubman or buyback system in cadets, how about the rookies cadets a class that already is running at some tracks, they have a engine price limit of say 400 or 600quid. As rookies should only be for a yr they will have the time to improve the driving, on a limited budget, have close racing and learn race craft, and in that time the parents will have noticed that karting is not a cheap sport.
This would have helped us out when we jumped in the deep end 2yrs ago.
