been in karting for about 4 or 5 years now but always previously with 2-strokes and have just made the change to 4-strokes. Thought that OTK prices were bad but this has just flipped my lid! As for making my own well yes, it is easier to buy them but I would rather spend �100+ on enhancing performance and bringing lap times down and as I am not self-employed, I consider my labour to be free. There is also the element of satisfaction too. Anyone that knows me will tell you I am happy to pay a fair price for anything but I detest the thought of being ripped off - I know the tooling up to produce the moulds for these chain guards is relatively expensive but once they are set up, they can literally produce them for pennies in terms of raw materials!
