It is run at Bayford and Buckmore, but does it work? In a budget class who takes 500 in cash to the club meetings ? I have heard "somebody should buy that engine" so many times but it very rarely happens. If an sp engine is used for the whole meeting it can stand out from the crowd but what if it is only used for qualifying or just the final ? What if there are three or four in the leading pack ? I have watched the clubman class grow over the last two years and that must be good but if you check the times of the front runners against those of the Cadets there is very little in it. There is also a reluctance amongst the dads to upset the generally good atmosphere in the paddock by accusing someone of cheating (that is afterall what buy back alleges) especially when you know that you will be seeing the same people all season. If you want a more level playing field then pool engines are probably the only way forward
