Well ..in answer to your question,
I don't have a garage. I have to get all the kit out of my shed, including the kart. Carry it all round and load it up. Unlock the trailer and hook it all up.
It takes ages on your own, my mechanic/friends help sometimes but it still takes a good 30 minutes at minimum.
Then there is ..the arriving at the circuit. Anyone who just takes their kart and goes straight out on track either isn't very bothered about their own safety and the safety of others and obviously hasn't paid.
Seriously, add up the time it takes you from the moment you pull in through the gates to the moment you drive out of the pits. I guarantee you've spent at least 45 mins getting kitted out, checking fuel, checking tyres, paying for your track use and just spending a few moments making sure your wheels aren't gonna fall off or your brake isn't gonna fail.
Then there is the plain hard fact that like most normal people i have to work Monday to Friday. Ok so I get 25 days Holiday but you use a week over crimbo, save a couple of weeks for house repairs and time with the missus and our little boy and it don't leave you with the holiday you need to just go karting mid week. Plus all my friends and mechanics need to take holiday too. This is unrealistic.
I've never been on a corporate event with work at a weekend, only ever during a weekday evening so why do all these circuits insist on blocking out the weekends with arrive'n drive.
I'm not nit picking, but an hour of track time is useless when you wanna go have a good day at the track.
