Hi, bit of a newbie on here & after some views. I have a prokart on 160s, and intend to do some races in the championships at Rye House and Clay Pigeon. But I dont understand this GX200 thing, and have questions.
The engines are sealed right ? How & when has that ever worked ? Are they built with any regard to the present rules ? eg ign timing. Will these be available from other engine builders than RPM, and if so, bearing in mind the vagaries of dynos, how will that work ? If theyre only available from one source, how is that a good thing ?
Surely the whole attraction (to me anyway), is the age-old stability of the prokart engine situation. Obviously nothings perfect in life, but it seemed to me that it was probably about as good as it gets in motorsport .
OK, I get the bit about having slightly more grunt, but there are other kart formulae that offer that why muddy these waters ?
It seems to me that some people have been completely suckered here by some short-term gratification, without any regard for the consequences.
I would stress that Im just some bloke, right ? Im not party to, and dont want particularly to be party to, the politics of all this, I just simply dont understand how this is anything approaching progress, and am questioning my continuing in something where the very attraction that it had for me (and others I suspect) is at risk.
I sincerely hope someones got answers here.
